Registry Office

All Italian citizens must timely inform the competent Italian Municipalities of any change in their marital status and the composition of their family, through the Consulate of residence, the Consulate competent for the place where the event occurred or directly at the Italian Municipality of origin.

In order for this Consulate General to send the relevant documentation:

  • birth certificates
  • marriage certificates
  • certificates of civil union between persons of the same sex
  • death certificates
  • divorce decrees

The citizen must deliver the relevant documentation either via by post to one of these addresses or deliver them in person at reception. NO NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE.

PLEASE NOTE: the original certificates will be retained by the Consulate for recordkeeping.

Please Note: The Consulate General cannot issue certificates from Italy of birth, marriage or death, these certificates can ONLY be issued by the competent Municipality.
