Request a Certificate

This Consulate General can issue, Italian citizens registered in AIRE and residing in NSW, certificates of:

  • Citizenship
  • Family status (registration in the consular register individually or by family unit)
  • Civile status

To receive the certificate, the applicant will need to:

  • book an online appointment for CONSULAR SERVICES and present yourself with an identity document, or
  • Send by post to one of these addresses

Present the following:

  1. the duly completed and signed form
  2. photocopy of the Italian identity document
  3. a money order with the amount provided for in the consular fee schedule
  4. a prepaid and pre-addressed envelope for sending the certificate

 

 PLEASE NOTE: The Consulate General does NOT issue birth/marriage/death certificates.

These documents are issued by:

  • Italian Municipality of birth/marriage/death in Italy for those born/married/deceased in Italy;
  • by the competent Office for the Born/Married/Deceased Abroad;
  • In NSW they must be applied to the Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.
