- Before coming to the Consulate Generalfor the issue of the passport, it is of importance that your consular file is up to date, (address, marital status, birth of children, marriages, divorces, etc.) according to the procedures illustrated on AIRE and CIVIL STATUS the sections. In case of discrepancies in the consular file, the issue of the passport is suspended until it has been updated;
- You will need to present application in person at the Consulate WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM with the following documentation:
- Completed application form for adults;
- the expired/expiring passport or, in the case of the issuance of the first Italian passport, the Italian identity card, driver’s license or the foreign passport (as long as the possession of Italian citizenship by the applicant is documented);
- Australian resident visa: “Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)”, alternatively a “Certificate of evidence of resident status” issued D.I.A.C. (Department of Immigration and Citizenship) if this was issued after 16/08/1992, for those who do not have also acquired the Australian citizenship. Otherwise your Australian passport and the Certificate of naturalization must also be submitted.
- For the application fee please refer to the Consular Fees Payments can be made either via eftpos (debit card only) or in cash
Subsequently, the acquisition of biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) and the signature of the applicant will take place, along with the printing of the booklet and SAME-DAY DELIVERY of the new passport.
PLEASE NOTE:
- THERE IS NO NEED TO BRING PHOTOGRAPHS for the passport, as they will be taken directly at the Consulate;
- it will not be possible to issue the passport on the same day in the presence of obstructing causes.
