Declaration of Value

1. INFORMATION FRAMEWORK

All information regarding the recognition, in Italy, of qualifications obtained abroad, with particular reference to the procedures that can be processed through the Italian consular offices, can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the following link:

2. DECLARATION OF VALUE

This Consulate General of Italy in Sydney can issue declarations of value ONLY in relation to qualifications obtained in New South Wales. To this end, it is necessary to send us the following documentation by post to one of these addresses or handover it in person via the reception:

  1. Application form, carefully completed and signed;
  2. Photocopy of a valid passport;
  3. Pre-stamped envelope (or you can organize a courier at your own expense) for returning documents if unable to collect them at the Consulate General. Please note that the Consulate General of Italy in Sydney declines ALL RESPONSIBILITY in the event of damage or loss of the package;
  4. For the evaluation of:
    • PRIMARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE:
      • Report card issued by the school, in original, legalized by means of apostille and accompanied by an Italian translation;
      • Declaration (without apostille) from the School in original and with translation into Italian, which confirms:
        • Student’s personal information, with date and place of birth
        • that the school is accredited by the “Department of Education”, indication of the type of school (public, private, religious, etc.)
    • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA:
      • “H.S.C. Certificate”, issued by “NESA”, in original, legalized by means of apostille and accompanied by a translation into Italian;
      • “Record of Achievement”, in original, without apostille and with translation into Italian;
      • UAI/ATAR (where present and only if you wish to enroll in an Italian University), without apostille and with an Italian translation;
    • UNIVERSITY/POST UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Qualification bearing the seal or stamp of the Institute/University, signed by the competent academic authority, in original, legalized by means of an apostille and accompanied by a translation into Italian;
      • Exam certificate (“transcript”) in original, without apostille and with translation into Italian;
      • Official certification regarding the legal duration of the Course, in original, without apostille and with translation into Italian;
      • If the applicant is in possession of a certification relating to registration in a professional register in NSW, attach a copy with the relevant translation.

 

DECLARATION FOR INTERMEDIATE YEARS

 For the evaluation of YEARS between KINDERGARTEN and YEAR 11 it is necessary to present:

    • Last report card in original, legalized by means of apostille and with translation into Italian;
    • Declaration (without apostille) from the School in original and with translation into Italian, which confirms:
      • student personal information, with date and place of birth;
      • that the school is accredited by the “Department of Education”, with registration number and indication of the type of school (public, private, religious, etc.)
      • number of years attended and year in which the course was successfully completed;

 

For the evaluation of UNIVERSITY INTERMEDIATE YEARS, it is necessary to present:

    • Original exam certificate (“transcript”), legalized by means of apostille and accompanied by an Italian translation;
    • Official certification regarding the legal duration of the Course, in original, without apostille and with translation into Italian

 

NOTE CAREFULLY

We do not accept copies conforming to the original issued by notaries whose signature is then legalized by means of apostille.

All original documents will be returned together with the Declaration of value.

The translation (which must be complete) can be carried out by the interested party, provided that it is accurate and conforms to the original. If this is not the case, the translation will be returned to the interested party, and the procedure will remain suspended until a suitable translation is produced.

 

CONSULAR FEES

Once the request has been examined and completed with the required documentation, the interested party will be informed by email of the possible amount of consular fees (art. 66N, art. 71 and art. 72 of the consular tariff) to be paid to our offices (in cash or with Eftpos/debit card) or by bank transfer. Let it be known that any bank charges must be borne entirely by the applicant.
