  1. Appointment confirmation printout;<\/li>\n
  2. Application form<\/a>,<\/strong> to be signed in the presence of the Consular Officer on the day of the appointment;<\/li>\n
  3. Applicant\u2019s passport<\/strong>;<\/li>\n
  4. Proof of residence <\/strong>within this consular district (e.g., utility bills, Australian driver\u2019s license);<\/li>\n
  5. Original birth certificate<\/strong>, with apostille and Italian translation;<\/li>\n
  6. Original marriage certificate<\/strong>, with apostille and Italian translation;<\/li>\n
  7. Where applicable, original divorce decree<\/strong>, with apostille and Italian translation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ANCESTOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

    OPTION 1:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Italian parent (including adoptive parent) <\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Photocopy of the marriage certificate<\/strong> if the marriage took place in Italy, or original marriage certificate<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also legalized if the marriage took place abroad and not in Australia;<\/li>\n
    2. Where applicable, original divorce decree<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also legalized;<\/li>\n
    3. Certificate of non-naturalization <\/strong>in a foreign country, issued by the competent foreign authorities, duly legalized, with translation also legalized, demonstrating that the parent did not acquire any other foreign citizenship prior to the applicant\u2019s birth.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      OPTION 2:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Italian parent (including adoptive parent), also holding another citizenship, who resided in Italy for two consecutive years prior to the applicant\u2019s birth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Original birth certificate<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized;<\/li>\n
      2. Original marriage certificate<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized;<\/li>\n
      3. Where applicable, original divorce decree<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized;<\/li>\n
      4. Photocopy of the historical residence certificate<\/strong> issued by the Italian municipality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        OPTIO<\/strong>N 3:<\/strong><\/span> Italian grandparent (including adoptive grandparent)<\/p>\n

        1. Photocopy of the birth certificate<\/strong> issued by the Italian municipality;<\/li>\n
        2. Photocopy of the marriage certificate<\/strong> if the marriage took place in Italy, or original marriage certificate<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized;<\/li>\n
        3. Where applicable, original divorce decree<\/strong>, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized;<\/li>\n
        4. Certificate of non-naturalization <\/strong>in a foreign country, <\/strong>issued by the competent foreign authorities, duly legalized, with translation also duly legalized, demonstrating that the Italian grandparent did not acquire any other foreign citizenship prior to the applicant\u2019s birth.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          PLEASE NOTE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

          Italian certificates must be requested from the competent municipality and submitted to this Office as photocopies.<\/p>\n

          Australian certificates must be requested from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages \/ Family Court<\/em> and submitted to this Office in original, with apostille<\/a> and Italian translation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

          The authenticity of the translation will be certified by this Office upon payment of the relevant Consular fee<\/a> (article 72C).<\/p>\n
