{"id":3127,"date":"2025-03-13T15:32:43","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T04:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conssydney.esteri.it\/?page_id=3127"},"modified":"2025-04-10T15:32:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T05:32:19","slug":"register-divorce-decree","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/conssydney.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/register-divorce-decree\/","title":{"rendered":"Register Divorce Decree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Registration in Italy of a divorce decree issued in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>When an Italian citizen obtains a divorce abroad, this sentence must be registered in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>To notify the divorce, the following documents must be <strong>mailed to one of\u00a0 these <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/conssydney.esteri.it\/en\/chi-siamo\/gli-uffici\/\">addresses<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 or <strong>handed in at the reception <\/strong>of this Consulate General:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/conssydney.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/DICHIARAZIONE-SOSTITUTIVA-DI-ATTO-DI-NOTORIETA-DIVORZIO.pdf\">divorce registration application form<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>The original <em>Divorce Decree<\/em> or <em>Divorce Order<\/em> issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/localcourt.nsw.gov.au\/local-court\/types-of-cases\/family-law.html\"><strong>Family Court, <\/strong><\/a>legalized by means of the Apostille (issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartraveller.gov.au\/consular-services\/notarial-services\/documents-in-australia\"><strong>Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade<\/strong><\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>A Translation of the <em>Divorce Decree<\/em> or <em>Divorce Order<\/em>\u00a0into Italian by a <a href=\"https:\/\/conssydney.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/lists\/\"><strong>NAATI translator<\/strong><\/a>; <strong>please note that the apostille DOESN\u2019T have to be translated.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Evidence of Italian citizenship (identity card, Italian passport, or certificate of Italian citizenship);<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE: the original certificates will be retained by the Consulate for recordkeeping.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Registration in Italy of a divorce decree issued in Australia.
