Non-Australian citizens of Italian origin

APPLICANT

  1. Appointment confirmation printout;
  2. Application form, to be signed in the presence of the Consular Officer on the day of the appointment;
  3. Applicant’s passport;
  4. Proof of residence within this consular district (e.g., utility bills, Australian driver’s license);
  5. Original birth certificate, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia;
  6. Original marriage certificate, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia.
  7. Where applicable, original divorce decree, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia.

 

ITALIAN ANCESTOR BORN IN ITALY AND EMIGRATED TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY

  1. Photocopy of the birth certificate issued by the Italian municipality where the ancestor was born;
  2. Photocopy of the marriage certificate if the marriage took place in Italy, or original marriage certificate duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia;
  3. Where applicable, original divorce decree, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia;
  4. Certificate of non-naturalization in a foreign country, issued by the competent foreign authorities, demonstrating that the Italian ancestor did not acquire any other foreign citizenship before the direct descendant reached the age of majority;
  5. Photocopy of the death certificate if the death took place in Italy, or original death certificate duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia

 

DESCENDANTS BORN IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY

  1. Original birth certificate, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia;
  2. Original marriage certificate, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia.
  3. Where applicable, original divorce decree, duly legalized, with Italian translation also duly legalized, if not issued in Australia.

 

PLESE NOTE: For the submission of documents issued by foreign, non-Australian authorities, the applicant must VERIFY WITH THE COMPETENT ITALIAN EMBASSY/CONSULATE THE FORMAL AND SUBSTANTIAL CORRECTNESS.
