Notary Services

Notary Services

timbroNotary services are exclusively offered to Italian citizens by appointment. Bookings can be made through our Online Booking system "Prenota Online".

Please note that it will not be possible to make a booking for the same day or for the next day of booking.

The Consulate may not offer advice on personal/private legal matters. In NSW there is a number of Italian speaking notaries who can execute notary deeds as well as a number of lawyers knowledgeable on Italian legal matters capable of providing such advice.

The Consulate Notary Office will assist in preparing the following documents:

  • General and special power of attorney (proxies);
  • Special Power of attorney for litigation;
  • Revocation of Power of attorney;
  • Verification of signature;
  • Atto Notorio;
  • Letter of authority (delega - download the form here);
  • Deed of renunciation to inheritance;
  • Copy of notary deed.

Notary services are only offered to Italian citizens, with the exception of deeds that must be jointly signed by foreign nationals and Italian citizens and of the Atto Notorio, when this is needed by foreign nationals for the purpose of marrying in Italy.

For non Italian citizens, a list of notaries authorized to issue notary documents in Italian language is available on our webpage.

Some of the above documents CANNOT BE ISSUED ON THE SAME DAY and the time required may vary from 1 to 4 days.

For information on SELF-CERTIFICATIONS please visit our webpage or visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation website.
